Nine Chore clients are impacted by the 15% Cost Share plan. In one case, a client has cut her nursing visits in half, as she could not afford to pay for regular visits. She is 93 years old. The mission of The Chore Service is, "to help elderly and disabled residents of Canaan, Cornwall, Falls Village, Kent, Norfolk, Salisbury and Sharon stay safely and independently at home and in the community." As such, we are deeply concerned about our neighbors who are facing significant financial strain as a result of this legislation. We have contacted each of the nine clients and have offered to pay the 15% bill for their Chore help as a way to ensure they do not have to decrease services.
