Securing Chores Future Endowment Campaign
Dear friends and supporters:
It is my honor to chair the Securing Chore's Future Endowment Campaign. I have been President of the Board for six years. Just like the clients we serve, my life too has been deeply touched by the joy and overwhelming appreciation that comes from our workers helping our elderly residents live safely and independently in their homes.
In November of last year, I lost my father at age 91. He was very active, even playing golf, up to the last two weeks of his life. After a weeks stay in the hospital from his first heart attack, he was able to come home and not enter a transition facility since I was able to stay with him. I was his Chore worker, running errands, paying bills, cooking all the meals, etc. So for the last week of his life, before the second heart attack, I witnessed firsthand the importance of being at home, living with dignity and being surrounded by special family and community mementos acquired over a lifetime.
Based on my own life experience and the stories of our Chore clients, I am passionate about ensuring that Chore can continue to operate and grow in the future. Chore is one way to make sure life for our elderly residents does not diminish in later years.
With the Endowment Challenge grants from Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation and The Community Foundation of Northwest CT, now is the time for us to ensure Chore's good works continue as we move forward.
Please take a look at our website to understand our journey from 1992, where Ella served two families, to 2009 where Chore served over 260 clients across Canaan, Cornwall, Falls Village, Norfolk, Salisbury and Sharon and read the case for support, attached below. Your generous donations and support have brought us to this point. I urge you to participate again, this time for our Endowment, to sustain our efforts into the future.
Most Sincerely,

Lea Davies
Board President
