The 2012 Chore Service Garden Party
To Celebrate Chore's 20th Anniversary
will be held from
5-7:30 PM on Saturday July 14th
at the home of Pam Wilson and George Mason
4 Juniper Ledge Lane, Lakeville CT
Pam Wilson and George Mason have been working on their gardens for 20 years. In 1992, they purchased a Cape Cod house, inheriting a field of honeysuckle and red cedar from the previous owners, as well as a herd of Indian Mt. Road deer. They planted and replanted, thanks to the deer, and then added a beautiful colonial addition to their home and surrounded 3 acres with deer fencing.
The gardens have literally blossomed from that point. Pam and George love plants, collecting interesting trees, shrubs and evergreens -- creating strolling gardens throughout the property. They have carved an entrance courtyard into the slope opposite their front door with a perennial border, juniper tapestry hedge and mass planting of hydrangeas and evergreens to screen the road. Around their pool are lovely flower borders, masses of rhododendron and a woodland garden.
Below the pool, the lawn slopes gently to pathways that lead through a wildflower meadow and a gate to a lawn terrace backing a tennis court. Bordering the lawn terrace are specimen trees as well as a collection of dwarf trees and a small rock garden surrounding steps made from boulders. Another path leads through a lower meadow walk, planted with evergreens, grasses and native plants. The lovely garden borders lead you through cultivated areas to natural and native landscapes.
Tickets are $45
