Help Us Make Independence Possible
Explore three simple ways to support our work.
-
Chore Service relies on the generosity of our community to do its work. Your gift helps older adults and people with disabilities remain safely at home, while also supporting meaningful local jobs for caregivers who want to make a difference.
-
Client contributions help keep Chore’s services accessible and affordable. Each client donates based on household income and ability to pay, alongside support from towns, foundations, churches, and individual donors.

Ways to Support Chore

Giving Through Your IRA
If you are age 70ó or older, you may make a charitable gift to Chore directly from your IRA.
• The funds must be transferred directly from your IRA to Chore.
• The distribution is not included in your taxable income.
• The gift may count toward your required minimum distribution (RMD).
• You may give up to $108,000 per year using this method.
Please contact your IRA custodian for instructions.
Make a Gift That Lasts Beyond Your Lifetime
There are several ways to include Chore in your estate planning:
Bequest in Your Will
You may leave a specific amount or a percentage of your estate to Chore through your will. A lawyer will be required to create or update your will.
Retirement Account Beneficiary
You may name Chore as the beneficiary of all or a portion of your IRA or 401(k). You retain full access to the account during your lifetime. Upon your death, the remaining balance passes directly to Chore, avoiding income taxes that would otherwise apply to an individual beneficiary. Please contact your plan administrator to make this change.
Payable-on-Death Accounts
You may designate a bank or securities account as payable on death (POD) to Chore. The funds remain fully available to you during your lifetime, and any remaining balance transfers to Chore upon your death. Please contact your financial institution to arrange this designation.
Tax Information
Chore Service is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law
